On the mound today for San Diego is veteran right-hander Yu Darvish who already has one win in two starts this spring training taking on San Francisco’s young right-hander Mason Black who is looking for his first win.
This season is Black’s professional debut in the majors. He and San Francisco both hope that there is a very bright future starting here in spring training. Darvish debuted back in 2012 for the Texas Rangers, playing five seasons there before three seasons each with the Chicago Cubs and San Diego respectively.
In his career in San Diego Darvish has gone 32-29 overall in 84 games played. The veteran is in a position to help San Diego build for the future with his veteran leadership and arm for a team that just missed the playoffs last season after going 82-80.
